The Site

The Site

The site is a young woodland area near Hairyholes Plantation, which will be restocked with native Scottish woodlands.

In terms of buildings, we have planned for one Welcome Centre and four Basecamps. The buildings will be modular containers converted to provide safe, secure spaces during poor weather.

Each Basecamp will be able to accommodate groups of up to 35 visitors. Each Basecamp will house a warm, indoor area providing toilets, a changing area, kitchen area and den for ‘quiet time’.

These buildings will be clustered in the southern half of the site.

In the northern half of the site, no building structures are planned. Works here will involve planting new native woodland species and creating 'clear spaces' for visitors to learn at various interaction stations, which will provide biodiversity and environmental resources.

The site is circled in red below and can also be seen via Google Street Map.
